Working as an outdoor photographer in Innsbruck, the heart of the Austrian Alps, means being prepared for anything — changing weather, remote locations, early mornings, and long hikes. My job often takes me from rugged peaks to quiet valleys, capturing the raw beauty of nature for tourism boards, outdoor brands, and travel publications. The gear I carry is essential to delivering high-quality, reliable results, no matter where I am or what I’m shooting.
Everything starts with a solid bag. I use the Lowepro Whistler BP 350 AW, a rugged and weatherproof backpack built for mountain conditions. It fits all my gear safely and includes a rain cover, which comes in handy in the unpredictable alpine climate.
My workhorse is the Canon EOS R5, which delivers exceptional image quality and speed, ideal for both commercial outdoor shoots and editorial work. As backup (and often my second angle), I carry the Canon R6, which handles low light brilliantly and is super reliable.
My go-to lenses:
For elevated perspectives, I rely on the DJI Mavic 3 Pro. It’s compact, quiet, and delivers stunning high-resolution images and 5.1K video. Especially when working for tourism boards and outdoor-related brands, aerial photography is a must to truly showcase the scale of the landscape of the Alps.
Being a Dutch outdoor photographer based in Innsbruck, I bring not just camera gear, but also a deep knowledge of the terrain, the weather, and how to tell a compelling story through visuals. My kit is lightweight and powerful, which allows me to deliver professional results that meet the needs of travel brands, tourism campaigns, and magazine features.
Whether it's a winter shoot in Tirol or a summer project in the Dolomites, I’m fully equipped to handle any assignment and to make sure every shot tells the story of the outdoors in its purest form.
